The coverage claim against damage to property arising from an accident is up to 2 million.
Motorists involved in an accident will now be entitled to get compensation for a rental vehicle for a maximum of 10 days and a value of up to AED 300 per day.
The insurance company is now liable to pay AED 200,000 in case of death of a member of the insured family, or anyone driving a rented, public or drivers learning vehicle.
The insurance company is accountable for repairing any damage to the vehicle which has been in an accident. In case the cost of repair exceeds 50% of its market value, the car’s value must be paid to the insurer provided the company’s liability is not more than AED 2 million.
The Insured should take all possible steps to safeguard the insured vehicle from loss or damage and to maintain it in a good condition. The Company has the right to examine the vehicle at any point in time.
In the event of any accident or breakdown the vehicle must not be left unattended and all possible measures must be taken to prevent further loss or damage.
In the event of any occurrence which is covered under the policy, the insuredmust give an immediate notice to the competent authority and the company submitting all the relevant documents and any claims to the insurance company.
The insurance company can refuse to provide compensation in the following cases:
If at the time of the accident, the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol
If the driver does not hold a valid driving licence.
Damage or defect which may affect the mechanical or electrical devices.
If heavy load of goods or passengers above authorised limits is loaded in the car.
If the vehicle is damaged because of using it for purposes other than as specified in the insurance policy.
