The wait for iPhone enthusiasts is finally over! After almost a year of speculation and anticipation, the recent launch of the Apple iPhone 6s has finally put the endless rumors to rest. We take a look at whether the newly launched iPhone 6s is worth all the hype or not.

The latest additions in the Apple iPhone series – the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be going head to head with Samsung Galaxy Note 5. How do these gadgets stack up against each other and what makes them unique?

Comparing camera performance

Both iPhone 6s and Samsung Note 5 boast excellent camera performance. The new iPhone 6s has made the jump to a 12 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera with retina flash, while the Galaxy Note 5 features a 16 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera.

Which smartphone looks better?

The iPhone 6s and Galaxy Note 5 both feature an aluminum body which gives a luxurious feel to the devices. iPhone 6s has the same design as the iPhone 6, whereas Note 5 has adopted an aluminum body with a curved back which makes it more comfortable to hold.

Available colors to choose from

iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are now available in four color options – space gray, silver, gold and the all new rose gold. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is also available in four color options – gold platinum, black sapphire, white pearl and silver titanium.

Location of the power outlet

Both the smartphones have non-removable batteries. iPhone 6s Plus packs a 2,915 mAh battery and Note 5 features a 3000 mAh battery which gives users a 9 hour 11 minutes (approx.) usage time. Both have power saving features which provide extended use.

Screen resolution and video quality

iPhone 6s is available in a 4.7 inch screen with 1334 x 750 pixels,and there’s a 5.5 inch screen for the iPhone 6s Plus with 1920 x 1080 pixels. Galaxy Note 5 is bigger in screen size with 5.7 inch and with higher screen resolution 2560 x 1440. All the three models produce crisp video quality.

Memory capacity and variants offered

In terms of RAM capacity, Galaxy Note 5 packs 4 GB of RAM compared to 2 GB on the iPhone 6s. But when it comes to speed and performance both the smartphones delivered similar results in the benchmark test. iPhone 6s is available in three variants – 16, 64 and 128 GB memory whereas Note 5 is available in two options – 32 GB and 64 GB.

iPhone 6s offers enhanced user experience by evolving how the touch screen should be used, by detecting the pressure applied on the display.  This feature allows users to first peek into content in different applications, links, images, and locations before popping them into a full screen view.
