Looking forward to the National Day long weekend? While there are many UAE residents ready to fly out for the long break, there are also others who chose to stay back and witness the celebrations. If you are staying around this National Day, check out events below to keep you busy and entertained with your friends and family.
Watch the National Day Parade
The Emaar Parade Downtown Dubai is back this year to celebrate the spirit of the 44th National Day at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard. This year’s parade is expected to be bigger than before with schools, government entities, corporations, CSR associations and Bikers’ Clubs participating. Entry to the event is free and you can either participate in the celebrations or just sit back and relax and watch the parade. The event will be held on 28 November 2015 from 3pm to 5pm. To avoid parking hassles, make sure you reach the venue before time.
Visit the Dubai Marina Yacht Club on the eve of the 44th National Day to watch UAE themed decorated boats and yachts sail along the Marina. There will also be activities to keep your whole family entertained along with your little ones such as a treasure hunt, face painting, prize draws, live cooking stations, live music and happy hours. The Boat Parade will take place between 2 pm and 3 pm and family fun day from 12 pm to 6 pm on 2 December 2015.
Ariane Grande Live
After the success of ” The Honeymoon Tour” where she performed in 75 cities, Ariane Grande is coming to the UAE. She will be performing live for the first time in the UAE at du Arena, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi from 6 pm onwards. You can watch her perform to her latest and most popular singles on 3 December. The ticket prices start at AED 295 and are available for sale at ticketmaster.ae. Make sure to carry a valid ID to enter.
National Day at Yas Island
If you’re looking for things to do with your family on the National Day, head down to Abu Dhabi on 2 December. Indulge in the festivities with a day packed with entertainment and cultural activities. A few activities that you can take part in include camel rides, face painting, arts and crafts for kids. Keep yourself entertained with live music, performances, aerial acrobats and fireworks. You will need to register online and entry to this event is free of cost. The event will be held at Yas Marina Circuit from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm.
Visit the Mall
Mercato mall has lined up a number of activities to celebrate the UAE National Day. From cake cutting ceremony to traditional performances and patriotic nail art, you can keep yourself entertained while at the mall. Activities for children include cookie decorating workshops and interactive workshops where kids can draw and paint the UAE National flag. You and your kid can also take part in fun drumming sessions. Festivities start from 1 to 3 December 2015.
Watch the fireworks
Living the in the UAE, no celebration would be complete without a display of fireworks. Watch fireworks light up the sky at The Beach, JBR on all days from 2 to 4 December at 8.30 pm.
