Employers could be fined SR 2,000 – 5,000 if they fail to pay domestic workers by the end of each month, after a, new law was issued in Saudi Arabia.

The new bylaw, issued by the Labor Ministry, also states that employees have a right to one day off per week and to be permitted to rest for at least nine hours a day.

The news was received positively by The Human Rights Commissions and recruitment agents across Saudi Arabia.
